Ian Maitland MIFP Cert PFS Cert CII (MP)
Director & Independent Financial Adviser
Ian has worked in financial services for nearly thirty years from this home in Lytchett Matravers. He is married, he has children and several young grandchildren. Ian’s objective is to build long-term relationships with his clients and their families, by providing regular updates and reviews, ensuring individual long-term financial goals are achieved. His knowledge and experience ensures that clients receive impartial, excellent, unique and up-to-date advice. Ian is qualified to provide advice in the areas of Investments, Retirement Planning, Tax Planning, Personal and Corporate Financial Planning, Financial Protection and Mortgages. His aim is to understand client’s current and future needs and objectives in order to create a unique, flexible and realistic financial strategy. This includes cash flow forecasting and effective tax planning to make those objectives possible. On 21st September 1988 Ian was a founding member of the Institute of Financial Planning, an organisation which was set up to provide the financial services industry quality advisers who work for their client rather than simply selling them financial products. Ian’s solicitor at the time drew up the original charter. In his spare time Ian enjoys actively supporting his local community and keeping up with his granchildren.
Martin Crompton Dip PFS
Martin has worked in financial services for most of his working life. It is an area of work that he particularly enjoys. He joined the Independent sector in 1991, having previously worked for several major UK building society’s in various roles for over 12 years. During his time in the building societies industry, Martin qualified as an Associate of the Chartered Building Societies Institute ‘ACBSI’ by examination, subsequently being elected as a ‘Fellow’ of the Institute, before the ensuing merger with the Institute of Bankers.Prior to that, Martin was employed by Britain’s first unit-linked life assurance company in their underwriting department in Bournemouth, having joined them from a Lloyds Insurance Broker, based in Poole, where he had worked since leaving school. He studied for the Life Branch of the Chartered Insurance Institute examinations and successfully passed five subjects, as well as obtaining an Ordinary National Certificate in Business Studies at Poole Technical College. Martin’s current role is to work with the Financial Adviser in preparing and administering a financial plan and Take out “and report” for a Client. He offers skills in addition to those of the adviser to provide the client with a positive professional experience and in particular, enjoys the technical side and report writing aspect of preparing financial plans.Martin is Diploma qualified with the Personal Finance Society as well as holding the Financial Planning Certificates (CII) from 1991/92.
Outside of work Martin’s interests include his family (he has a daughter, a son and currently two grandchildren), as well as photography, gardening and travelling.
Jack White DipFPS ACSI
Trainee Independent Financial Planner
Jack’s career in Financial Services began as a Junior Paraplanner at Greenfields. He has subsequently gone on to complete a range of exams, with his original base of expertise being founded in investments following the completion of his Investment Management Certificate. After obtaining this certification, Jack qualified as an active Associate of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments. Investments have since become a real passion of Jack’s both inside and outside of the workplace.
Jack’s current role within Greenfields is to support the firm with research of both products and investments, production of financial planning/cash flow planning reports and meeting existing/prospective clients.
Going forwards, Jack hopes to become a fully qualified Independent Financial Adviser with Greenfields, learning from the wealth of experience already within the firm and exploring new areas of expertise along the way through his studies.
Abby joined our team in March 2016 as an Office Administrator. Previously, Abby worked in finance in the investment sector at JP Morgan Chase, based in Bournemouth.
Abby lives in Wimborne with her partner and young son. In her spare time she enjoys being with family and friends as well as going to the gym and travelling.
Ryan joined Greenfields in July 2017 as an Office Administrator. After four years working at Canford School, he is now taking on his first role in the financial services industry with Greenfields.
In his spare time Ryan enjoys spending time with his friends and family, keeping fit and is a big fan of music; playing various instruments and going to live concerts.
Robbie Holman MSc (Dist) DipFPS
Trainee Independent Financial Planner
Robbie joined Greenfields in May 2018 as a Trainee Paraplanner. After four years of studying at Southampton University, where he obtained a Masters in Global Politics, Robbie looked to the financial industry to apply his in-depth knowledge of today’s political world. The substantial effect that politics has on the financial industry fascinates him; from significant governmental change to a simple tweet, markets are forever changing to reflect actions of leaders across the globe.
Outside of work, Robbie continues to play for Wimborne Rugby Club who he has represented from the age of 5. Another hobby of his is golf; often playing rounds at Rushmore Golf Club where his father and friends are members.
Justin Travers ACSI CeMAP BSc (Hons)
Justin joined Greenfields in April 2018 after gaining his Cemap qualification through the London Institute of Banking and Finance. He had previously spent almost 20 years in Retail Management.
In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife and two young daughters. He is also an avid fisherman, gardener and has a keen interest in archaeology having studied this at university.
